El-P Signs to Fat Possum

Despite founding iconic hip-hop label Definitive Jux, rapper/producer El-P has been without a recording home for over a year since the imprint entered an indefinite hiatus in early 2010. That is all set to change, however, as the artist has inked a deal with Fat Possum.

While El will join artists like Wavves and Yuck on the ever-expanding imprint, he won't be the only hip-hop artist working with Fat Possum. Earlier this year, the Mississippi-based imprint reissued Blackenedwhite, the debut album from Odd Future duo MellowHype.

El-P's Fat Possum debut is tentatively called Cancer for Cure, though that could change. For now, lead single "Drones Over BKLYN" can be heard in Click Hear or below courtesy of Adult Swim.

El-P's last solo album was 2007's seminal I'll Sleep When You're Dead.
