Doldrums

Sneaky Dee's, Toronto ON June 16

Coming late to a performance sucks, especially when the tail end of it is as good as that of former Spiral Beach man Airick Woodhead, aka Doldrums. The Toronto native has been making waves for months now, and his set at Sneaky Dee's showed why. With just a travelling suitcase full of gear and a number of pedals at his disposal, Woodhead enthralled a small but devoted crowd with charming dance moves, mic in hand as he piled his manipulated voice on top of itself for maximum grooviness. The next time -- and there will be a next time -- we'll be punctual. You should, too.
