DJ Krush

DJ Krush has been perfecting his trip-hop-focused electronica for almost 25 years and he doesn't seem to be losing his edge with age. At 45 years old, he was likely more energetic and original than the majority of the bands playing Pop Montreal. After a very brief but show-stopping technical error early on, the DJ was able to quickly bring the audience’s energy back up through his crowd-pleasing signature beats. As a pioneering member of the Japanese hip-hop community, it was very interesting to watch the DJ who doesn't speak a word of English connect so easily with an all-white, mostly Francophone audience.
