As with all the Pop offshoots (Art, Puces, Policy), the inaugural Dance Pop was backboned by music, provided here by ethereal gypsy Lhasa de Sela, members of Plants & Animals and guitarist Joe Grass. Its stars, however and of course, were the members of Little bang theory, who told a story, I believe, about two innocents pulled together and pushed apart. From tiny, subtle intertwined movements to tightly choreographed fast-paced action, I know nothing about dance, nor how to critique it, but I enjoyed something that could be accurately called "contemporary dance,” and that’s saying something.
