To celebrate 50 years of quality boot-making, subculture favourites Dr. Martens has commissioned ten artists from a multitude of genres to cover ten "cult-classic" songs from the last half-century.

As FACT points out, Dâm-Funk (pictured) will cover the Human League and Buraka Som Sistema will cover Neneh Cherry, along with other cover contributions from the Noisettes, the Cinematic Orchestra, the Raveonettes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and more. Nine of the ten artists and tracks have been confirmed so far, three of which will be available as free downloads from the official Dr. Martens 50th Anniversary website here, starting April 1.

Also, the company has commissioned a number of directors, including Don Letts and Rankin, to create visual accompaniments to the songs.
