Its Canadian Music Week, and that means thousands of nerdy music journalists, slick record execs and the odd, underprivileged wristband-buying music fan are traversing across the snowy streets of Toronto looking for the next big thing, or, yknow, just something, decent to take in amongst all the bad.
But the fun isnt limited to those elite with a laminate or wristband. Criminal Records (93 Queen Street West) has scheduled a three-day string of in-store gigs to take advantage of the talent currently populating the 416.
The concert series starts tonight (March 6) at 6:00 p.m. with Jenny Omnichord. Dont forget to buy some records or swag while youre there to compensate for the fact that these are all 100 percent FREE.
Heres the schedule:
Thursday, March 6
Jenny Omnichord (weewerk) - 6:00 p.m.
The Burning Hell (weewerk) - 6:30 p.m.
Friday, March 7
Winter Gloves (Paper Bag) - 5:00 p.m.
Plants and Animals (Secret City) - 6:00 p.m.
Saturday, March 8
Calm Down It's Monday (feat Julie Doiron & Fred Squire) - 5:00 p.m.
Julie Doiron (solo) - 5:30 p.m.
The Superfantastics - 6:10 p.m.
Dog Day - 6:40 p.m.
