Colin Stetson

Stetson is a new Montreal resident, having been lured there by his work with Arcade Fire and Bell Orchestre; his C.V. includes stints with Tom Waits and Antibalas. For his solo saxophone show, he made the most of the physicality of the bass saxophone — the musical instrument that most resembles a rocket launcher. Stetson’s circular breathing, percussive approach and arpeggiated melodies were entrancing; he’s got the trills that thrill.
