When not selling the entirety of their catalogue for use in Glee, batting off lawsuits or staying in tying their hearts to their sleeves with the utmost concentration, Coldplay are writing new music. To prove it, the mom rock outfit swung by Jimmy Kimmel's show last night (August 3) for a the North American TV debut of brand new song "Charlie Brown" and a rendition of recent single "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall."
The U2-esque "Charlie Brown" gives the impression of a band who retain their original musical goals of grandeur underneath label and audience pressure. Watch below, and if it's any indication, Kimmel's studio audience loved it.
The fifth Coldplay album, set to be released around autumn on Capitol Records, is expected to feature both tracks.
