Sometimes being the oddball helps. Hailing from Quebec City and amalgamating some truly diverse influences into a strong metallic foundation, Aeternam's almost world music approach to heavy metal gives them quite the edge. From thick, gripping mid-tempo dirges harkening back to Sepultura's finest to some all-out rippers graced with haunting Middle Eastern harmonies, the quartet ensured a fresh twist was offered to a night of aural intensity. While not everyone was enthralled with their left-field approach, few could argue that it wasn't relayed with conviction and sincerity.
