Long-running North American metalcore outfits Chimaira and Unearth's paths have crossed countless times over the years, but surprisingly, the bands have never headlined a tour together in their homeland. That's all about to change this fall, though, as the heavy music titans will be splitting the top marquee spot on their upcoming "Jägermeister Presents Tour."
Starting this October, the Cleveland-based Chimaira will travel the U.S. with openers Impending Doom and Revocation for a few weeks before getting together with Unearth and thrashers Skeletonwitch for a number of Canadian dates. The second leg of the trip kicks off in Toronto on November 13 and finds the bands heading westward for more Canadian dates in the Prairies. You can see the schedule below.
"We are extremely excited to hit the road with our old friends in Unearth," said Chimaira vocalist Mark Hunter in a statement. "Crazy to think that our bands have been playing shows for over ten years but never headlined together in the states. A lot of fans have been waiting for this lineup and now the wait is over. This is going to be a blast! Our friends at Jägermeister will be supplying the fun, we'll be blasting the tunes, and you guys bring the ruckus! I guarantee you don't want to miss this!"
It's been a big year for the bands, with Chimaira releasing The Age of Hell in August, Unearth issuing their latest Darkness in Light in July, and Skeletonwitch prepping their next Prosthetic Records release, Forever Abomination for October 11.
