There's just a couple of weeks to go before New York crew Cerebral Ballzy's long-in-the-works sophomore set Jaded & Faded hits stores, but the band have a new thing for you to play with in the meantime. You can check out the group's "Be Your Toy" now.
As previously reported, drummer Tom Kogut said that Cerebral Ballzy's upcoming song cycle presents a "punky abrasive sound done with such a casual melody," and "Be Your Toy" has this in spades. The bubblegum nature of the melody is palpable beneath all the fritzed-out, fork-in-the-wall-socket power chords and overblown backup vocals, which complement singer Honor Titus' Joey Ramone-ish summary of how he wants to be someone's play thing.
You can check out the track down below.
As previously reported, Jaded & Faded arrives in Canada June 17 through Dine Alone Records, with Julian Casablancas' Cult Records issuing the LP in the U.S. the same day.
