Catl.

Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto ON June 16

Buzzed-about Toronto country and blues rock trio Catl. played a rambunctious set at the Horseshoe for their Saturday night slot. The stripped-down three-piece produce a surprising amount of noise, with Jamie Fleming wailing emphatically over their juke-joint country punk. The band are renowned for their live show, so it was no surprise when the crowd took an immediate shine to them -- they've the bluesy soul to affect, and the technical shops to get folks dancing and hollering. Unlike many of their Toronto peers, Catl. are entirely without ego, and their shows are prime examples: just pure, enthusiastic fun, played loudly enough to vibrate the venue's stage -- and a couple of hearts, too.
