Cat Power has everyone eagerly awaiting her new record Sun, and now the songstress has unveiled the album opener "Cherokee," alongside a remix of the same track by acclaimed electronic artist Nicolas Jaar.
Jaar's melancholic reworked version unsurprisingly slows things down, removing the warmth of most of the instrumentation and adding his self-described "blue-wave" touch to the track.
Sun is scheduled for release on September 4 via Matador Records, and you can gain some insight into the inspiration and recording process behind it in our recent interview with Cat Power over here.
