Carolyn Mark Becomes 'The Queen of Vancouver Island' on New Album, Plots North American Tour
It's been three years since Victoria-based alt-country great Carolyn Mark released Let's Just Stay Here, her Juno-nominated collaborative album with NQ Arbuckle. With that in mind, we're about due for a new album from the singer-songwriter, which is why she composed 12 new tracks for a record called The Queen of Vancouver Island.

The release, which marks her eighth solo record overall, was recorded in four different locations during the winter of 2011 and 2012. While the producers haven't been revealed just yet, a press release describes them as "tops in the field."

Mint Records will issue The Queen of Vancouver Island on September 18. The full tracklisting is available below along with a stream of the debut single "Not Like the Movies."

In addition to the new release, Mark is currently making her way all over the continent on tour. This week, she'll play some shows around the Pacific Northwest before hitting remote areas of British Columbia and Alberta, then eastward for shows in New York and Ontario. The full itinerary is available below.
