Caribou Vibration Ensemble's ATP Set Now Available Online, Might Get Official Release
Published Sep 29, 2009Unless you were one of the lucky few who got to witness it in Toronto or at New York City's All Tomorrow's Parties last month, you're probably kicking yourself that you missed out on hearing the Caribou Vibration Ensemble. Headed by Caribou's Dan Snaith, the large group featured members of Four Tet, Enon, Junior Boys, Born Ruffians, Kieren Hebden of Four Tet, and the Sun Ra Arkestra, among others, but formed for those two shows only.
Fortunately, you can stop beating yourself up about it if you missed the band live, as WFMU and the Free Music Archive have put some high quality clips of the group's ATP set online here. It's not the full set, but you can at least get a feel for the band's space-y sounds. Better yet, WFMU have revealed that "multitracks from this session are on their way to Mr. Snaith's residence, and there is talk of an official release."
Come on, Snaith! Make this happen so we can get it for Christmas.
