This Philadelphia band features Rodney Linderman, formerly of college cult rockers the Dead Milkmen. But if you're expecting reworked renditions of "Bitchin' Camaro" and "Punk Rock Girl," you're in for a disappointment. This is more along the lines of old-fashioned Celtic music. Yes, you read that correctly. It comes complete with tin whistle, hurdy gurdy, mandolin and bouzouki. And although they do a good job of it, it's hard to gauge to whom it's meant to appeal. The vocal duties are shared by Rodney and Vienna Linderman, whose voice lends a haunting quality to the sound the band has dubbed "American Gothic."
