We already knew that Broken Bells would be releasing their album After the Disco in January, and now the Shins' James Mercer and producer Danger Mouse have confirmed a release date and shared the lead single.
The album will be out on January 14 through Columbia Records. Prior to that, it will be available to pre-order from iTunes starting tomorrow (November 5).
Those who pre-order will receive an instant download of the single "Holding on for Life." This cosmically poppy space-folk tune is available to stream below.
As previously confirmed, the band are releasing a short film alongside the album. The film is also called After the Disco, and the band shared a prologue to film last week. According to a press release, the whole film centres on "Oliver, a 9-to-5 ordinary Joe, who finds a spacesuit-clad Helen, the literal girl of his dreams." Stay tuned for further instalments.
