After returning with her first new single in six years in the form of Elton John collaboration "Hold Me Closer," Britney Spears has continued to unearth new details about what she endured under the 13-year conservatorship she was finally freed from last November. The pop star said she's "pretty traumatized for life" from the whole experience, and is consequently unlikely to ever perform again.
Spears made multiple posts on Instagram yesterday (September 11), including a photo with a since-deleted caption about how "Work Bitch" is the only music video she's made that she actually likes.
"The most offensive SO CALLED professional pictures on every tour," she wrote. "I mean they could have at least cheated and retouched them for me … just saying. I'd rather quit shit in my pool and shoot photos of myself in studios over working with the most offensive people in my life."
The artist added, "I'm pretty traumatized for life and yes I'm pissed as fuck and no I won't probably perform again just because I'm stubborn and I will make my point." She added a "kiss my God damn mother fucking ass" for good measure.
She followed it up with a three-minute voice memo elaborating on her lack of control — both creative and otherwise — and explained that she is finding therapy difficult because of having been forced to attend AA meetings. A series of posts succeeded it, including another voice memo about getting multiple hour-long MRIs for reasons unknown to her while under her conservatorship. At the time, she said she thought her father, former conservator Jamie Spears, was trying to kill her, captioning the post with a plea that her parents "burn in hell."
