Brian Wilson's impressive career was recently toasted on a new compilation titled Playback, and in conjunction with the record's release, "Love and Mercy" has been treated to a new video.
The clip features delightfully retro footage from the recording of the song back in the '80s. The track originally appeared on Wilson's self-titled 1988 solo debut.
"I remember I was drinking champagne this one night and I wrote 'Love and Mercy' in half an hour," Wilson said in a statement [via Brooklyn Vegan]. "I wrote this song because people need love and mercy in their lives and I feel like people love the song, specially nowadays because it's very relatable with what's happening in the world."
