Experimental rock duo Blues Control have issued releases on a number of esteemed imprints, including Sub Pop and Woodsist, and the outfit's next LP, Valley Tangents, finds them teaming up with yet another big player in the indie scene, Drag City.
A press release form the label confirms that the collection arrives with their stamp of approval on June 19. While formed in Queens, NY, the group moved to Cooperstown, PA during the creation of Valley Tangents, and they ended up recording the six-song set in their new home. Touting tunes that wrap "mellow drug-mospheres around a crisp keyboard centre," Valley Tangents is said to hover around the edges of a number of rock movements, including "stadium, industrial, psych and prog (to name just a few)."
Blues Control have yet to reveal the details, but they will apparently tour in the Northeast and Midwest regions of the U.S. this summer, with more dates to come later in the year.
Valley Tangents:
1. Love's Rondo
2. Iron Pigs
3. Opium Den/Fade to Blue
4. Walking Robin
5. Open Air
6. Gypsum
