Queens, NY's Blues Control got a leg up last week when they were given the highly coveted opening slot for Animal Collective's two NYC shows. It must have been quite the anticipation builder, considering the persistent drone that fluctuates through the work of Lea Cho and Russ Waterhouse. With a signature sound that utilizes warped manipulations of classic rock riffage, ambient lulls and fried washes of psychedelia, the tuneage these two emit is remarkably lethargic yet hasty in its disposition. Having recorded albums for the likes of Holy Mountain and Woodsist, it shouldn't come as a surprise that their next LP will drop courtesy of the noise purveying Siltbreeze label.
"Tenku You" is a brand new track that introduces a disorderly rhythm coalescing with shimmering piano notes before the sky opens up and wayward guitar licks drop into place, forging a jumpy scrap of bohemian trance.
