Bloc Party, Ting Tings, Women To Play CMW 2009

The 2009 edition of the Canadian Music Week has announced its confirmed line-up, which this year includes such notable acts as Bloc Party, the Ting Tings, Chad VanGaalen, Herman Dune, Women and Human Highway.

This year's event will take place from March 12 to 14 in Toronto and feature some 500 artists playing 45 venues in three days, making CMW Canada's largest music convention. Other bands scheduled to play the include Basia Bulat, Supersuckers, Malajube, the Rural Alberta Advantage, Vancougar, We Are Wolves and Anvil, among others.

On the more conference/networking side of CMW, the event will bring together some 75 panel discussions featuring as many as 360 international music experts, which this year include Bob Lefsetz of the Lefsetz Newsletter, TrendHunter.com founder Jeremy Gutsche, MP3Tunes Inc. CEO Michael Robertson and Cory Ondrejka, EMI's senior vice-president of digital strategy. (A list of all the panels confirmed so far can be found here.)
