For classic rock fans who found Black Sabbath's Converse shoes a little too dark and scary, here's a line of footwear that might be more up your alley: The Beatles and Vans have joined forces for a line of Yellow Submarine-themed kicks.
There are four different models, each of which features brightly psychedelic imagery based on the Fab Four's 1968 animated film Yellow Submarine. According to Rolling Stone, the Classic Slip-On shows an ocean scene, the Sk8-Hi Reissue depicts the Beatles running up the ankles, the Era shows the band in a garden, and the Authentic uses the phrase "allyouneedislove" in a colourful pattern.
That's a picture of the shoes above. They will cost between $65 and $75 U.S. per pair.
As previously reported, the Beatles will soon be honoured with a Grammy covers tribute. It will be taped in Los Angeles on January 27 and will air on February 9 on CBS, which is 50 years to the day that the Beatles made their U.S. debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.
