BADBADNOTGOOD, Bordeen and NDMA Lead This Week's Music/Video Roundup

BY Rebecca M. WilliamsPublished May 5, 2014

The onset of spring can be cold, grey and extremely slow — however, with May finally underway, it's safe to say we can start to expect more sunny days ahead. In contrast to the glacial pace spring has taken, the steady stream of new music and video releases has been anything but slow. So, here's our weekly roundup of music and videos. While we all wait for spring to catch up, find what's been warming us up below.

First up, the long-awaited third release from Toronto trio BADBADNOTGOOD is now available to stream. The album, with the minimal yet fitting title III, is a melting pot of groove and raw musicianship. On the all-original new LP, BADBADNOTGOOD cook up jazz while mixing in shades of hip-hop. The highly anticipated album doesn't drop until May 6, but we've got it streaming now before its official release.

Ontario pop-rock act Bordeen have released a clip for their high-energy track, "Broken Bones." The video features straightforward shots of the band performing in a plain white room, allowing the track's sweet, catchy, pure pop vibe to shine through. Click above to see it for yourself.

Don't miss the music video for "BurnSlow," the latest track from Ottawa hip-hop artist NDMA. In anticipation of his EP, Panache (due June 17), NDMA has shared a video to match the track's upbeat hooks. It's set at a classy soirée, full of primping ladies and clinking glasses. We've also got the charming music video for Old Man Canyon's track "Wiser." The Vancouver act's soulful folk track lends a sense of nostalgic wonder to a little boy's solo journey.

Finally, watch the video for Swim Good's electro-charged single "Upgrade," which showcases the hypnotizing contemplative power of a coin laundromat. Give it a view and get lost in the spin cycle.
