Toronto jazz kids Badbadnotgood have been impressing a lot of people lately with their music and did exactly that with their live show on Sunday afternoon. Fusing their obvious understanding of a traditional style of music with their own playful take on hip-hop, these guys have hit sonic gold. Their Hillside set saw them open with Waka Flocka Flame's "Hard in Da Paint" before taking on songs by everyone from Feist to James Blake. It was the trio's rendition of Kanye West's "Flashing Lights" from their recently released BBNG2 that stole the show, though. It's innovative music delivered with boyish energy and gimmicky pig masks, and everything about it works.
