Archie Bronson Outfit Pair up with DFA's Tim Goldsworthy for New LP
Published Jan 19, 2010The London-based trio Archie Bronson Outfit are prepped to release a new album, their third for Domino Records , on March 1 in the UK. Described by the band as "a modern psychedelic testament delivering a visceral shot of pleasure," it's their first release in nearly four years.
The album, entitled Coconut, was produced by DFA's Tim Goldsworthy (LCD Soundsystem, the Rapture, Hercules and Love Affair) with recording done in the band's hometown of London, as well as Benton Harbour, MI.
"Coconut is an album bursting with warped inventiveness and sonic intent," says the group on their website, adding that the album "switches between full-on, deep-end rock and more reflective, beat-driven numbers."
A limited run of copies of the album will feature a companion DVD of videos for the entire album, made by the band and some of their artist friends and collaborators.
The album's first single, "Shark's Tooth," described as a "heavy psych dancefloor anthem with distorted vocals and an infectious riff," will be released on February 22.
No word yet on a North American release.
