First Canadian metal auteurs Anvil had their career reinvigorated by music doc Anvil! The Story Of Anvil, and earlier this year the troupe's greatest hits were celebrated on Monument of Metal: The Very Best of Anvil. Now the rockers will have their entire output celebrated via a series of reissues.
A press release explains that Anvil's current label, the End, will be breaking out remastered versions of all of the band's old albums, with the first three redos arriving February 14. Oddly, it doesn't look as if they'll be doing this chronologically, as the initial offerings from the End will be 1987's Strength Of Steel, 1988's Pound for Pound and 1992's punny Worth the Weight.
UPDATE: The reissues are now due out August 14.
No word on when the label will be digging way back into the annals of Anvil's output, which started with 1981's Hard 'n' Heavy (which was originally released under the band name "Lips").
Tracklistings have yet to arrive for the first three reissues, so it's unknown whether the packages, being presented as digipacks, will contain any extra goodies.
Anvil will also be cutting across North America next year, though the Canuck metalheads don't have any gigs scheduled in their homeland. Regardless, you can see their schedule below.
