Nefarious U.S. black metal cult Abigail Williams have announced they're coming out of hibernation, with their first LP in three years set to drop later this fall. Titled The Accuser, it lands October 30 via Candlelight Records.
A press release notes that the album was recorded, mixed and mastered by project founder Ken Sorceron at Abigail Williams' home studio in Olympia, WA. In addition to guitarist/vocalist Sorceron, the band's current incarnation includes guitarist Jeff Wilson (Wolvhammer), drummer Charlie Fell (Lord Mantis, Avichi) and recording bassist Will Lindsay (Indian, Lord Mantis). Further extending their reach, the band are also joined on the LP by Twilight's Neill Jameson.
The Accuser is the band's first collection since 2012's Becoming and is described as a "diseased offering." Sorceron explained in a statement that it took a long time to put together the LP, as he didn't want to replicate previous efforts, and he's "an indecisive bastard."
"It felt unnatural to try and reproduce what I did on Becoming," he said, adding, "So once again we are covering new ground with this release. The songs are the most personal to date with the themes mostly being about living shitty, addictions, sex, loss and failure all through the eyes of a nihilistic occultist shithead."
Previews from the upcoming LP have yet to be revealed, but you can see the full tracklisting details down below. Additionally, it's been confirmed that Abigail Williams have been added to Today Is the Day's recently announced leg of North American tour dates. This includes stops in Toronto and Ottawa.
