Forget his Coronation Street acting aims: Snoop Dogg is the undeniable King of the Ring after a weekend appearance at WWE WrestleMania 39 that should be in immediate contention for screen time in that forthcoming biopic.

Affirming that an old Dogg can, in fact, learn new tricks, Snoop was initially on hand to co-host a broadcast segment on Sunday (April 2) at SoFi Stadium until he entered the ring to square off with wrestler Mike "The Miz" Mizanin.

Mizanin was in the midst of trading shots with Shane McMahon, whose first appearance at a WWE event in 14 months was cut short by a torn quad. Though victory appeared to be within Mizanin's grasp, he clearly didn't account for the Dogg to come off his leash.
Stepping through the ropes, Snoop first delivers a mean right hook to knock out Mizanin, before dropping his mic and throwing his stylish sunglasses into the crowd. As the audience goes wild, an announcer proclaims, "Snoop can do whatever he wants!" Like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson before him, the artist delivered the People's Elbow to claim victory.

"My hat's off to Snoop, just picking it up and like, 'oh man, he's hurt? That's alright. I'll fix that.' Just a natural born entertainer," WWE head of creative Paul "Triple H" Levesque shared [via Rolling Stone]. "I've known Snoop for years in this environment and what kind of a fan he is, but tonight he put himself on a different playing field and respect factor for me. I know a lot of guys that have been in business a long time; if that happened, they'd go, 'what do we do?' It was amazing."
Snoop's Sunday appearance at WrestleMania comes after March 2016 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, the first-ever musician to receive the honour. This summer, he'll hit the road on a summer North American tour.
