Steven Seagal Granted Russian Citizenship from His Buddy Vladimir Putin
Published Nov 03, 2016It turns out that presidential hopeful Donald Trump isn't the only American celebrity buddying up with the Kremlin. Martial arts master Steven Seagal's ass-kicking acting abilities have attracted the attention of one Vladimir Putin.
The pair have become the world's most unlikely BFFs in recent years, and their friendship has culminized in an unprecedented announcement — Steven Seagal is now an honorary citizen of Russia.
As Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the Associated Press, Seagal "has been insistent for a long time in asking to be granted Russian citizenship.
Peskov added that "he is known for his warm feelings to our country, he never made a secret of it, and he's also a well-known actor, which gave grounds to make him a Russian citizen."
Now we just need a buddy cop movie starring Seagal and Putin.
