And new artwork that makes Michael Myers burn

While John Carpenter's soundtrack to the 2018 Halloween film only just came out last year, the horror master is already treating the album to a deluxe and expanded reissue — complete with new art that lets you burn the hell out of Michael Myers.

Arriving via Sacred Bones, Halloween: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Expanded Edition) will add on 24 new cues to the soundtrack, making up for more than 28 minutes of additional music from David Gordon Green's film. This bumps the soundtrack up from one vinyl record to a 2-LP set.

The deluxe version also comes with some fancy new Michael-burning art. Here is how the label explains it:

The additional material included on the expanded edition adds a total of 24 cues to the album, spread across two more sides of vinyl on the deluxe double LP version. The LP also has all-new art and lavish packaging, including an optical-illusion lenticular sleeve that makes the flames around Michael Myers's mask dance when you slide it off the record jacket.

You can watch some teaser clips below to see how the animated cover works.

Halloween: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (Expanded Edition) will arrive just before Halloween on October 18. A Sacred Bones mail-order exclusive will come on glow-in-the-dark splatter vinyl (1,000 copies), while the standard retail version will be pressed on one orange record and one black. There's also a Sacred Bones Record Society version that will come on "Bloody Jumpsuit" vinyl (150 copies).

You can pre-order the release and learn more over here — and decide if this all warrants a double dip.
