HBO Max Is Releasing the Snyder Cut of 'Justice League'

In 2017, Zack Snyder led a bunch of superheroes through Justice League, a movie that Exclaim! adorned a 4 out of 10. As with all major letdowns, fans couldn't believe that it was bad in its own right, instead blaming Warner Bros. for stifling Snyder's creativity with a shoddy edit. As such, the #ReleasetheSnyderCut movement was born, and the fans will now be satiated as the Snyder cut is, in fact, being released.

HBO Max is set to release the Snyder cut in 2021. An exact date, however, has not yet been set.

"I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Bros. for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized," Snyder said. "Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality."

Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich added, "Thanks to the efforts of a lot people, we're excited to bring fans this highly anticipated version of Justice League. This feels like the right time to share Zack's story, and HBO Max is the perfect platform for it. We're glad the creative planets aligned, allowing us to #ReleaseTheSnyderCut."

Stay tuned for more information on the Snyder cut as it becomes available.
