Last week, Harold & Kumar actor Kal Penn simultaneously came out as gay while announcing his engagement to his longtime partner Josh. Twitter has since erupted in congratulations for the couple, and Penn appears to be basking in the celebratory mood.
So when he noticed a newly ordained Cardi B on his recent flight to Los Angeles, the actor's subconscious mind serendipitously brought forth some outlandish wedding planning ideas.
"Cardi B was on my flight to LA," Penn wrote on Twitter. "I fell asleep and had a dream that she officiated our wedding on the plane and the three of us walked out of LAX holding hands."
That tweet apparently caught Cardi's eye, as the "WAP" rapper followed up with Penn, offering to officiate his nuptials.
"First, why didn't you say hi! Second, I'm licensed to do that sooo... let me know," Cardi responded.
"You're the best," Penn replied, noting that he "was gonna say hi but didn't want to be disrespectful" as the rapper's do not disturb light was apparently on. He added: "But holy shit let's do it! We're down if you're down!"
Cardi went on to tell Penn she was "down" and would get her suit ready for the occasion. As seen in a recent episode of her Facebook Watch series Cardi B Tries…, the rapper got certified in order to officiate a same-sex couple's wedding with the help of actress Raven-Symoné.
The adorable Twitter exchange marks the second instance of Cardi's affinity for dudes named Penn. As you can see in the interaction below, the rapper is still using the image of actor Penn Badgley for her profile photo, after the pair expressed their admiration for each other online last month.
