Pete Davidson is currently performing stand-up around the northeastern United States with his pal John Mulaney, but the Saturday Night Live star didn't go onstage the other night in Connecticut, after he claimed that the club owner disrespected him.
Davidson was scheduled to perform at the Stress Factory in Bridgeport, CT, on Monday night (April 29), but he instead sent a video message to the audience saying that he would not take the stage after comments made by owner Vinnie Brand.
"He disrespected me and did something that I told him not to do, and I can't perform under those circumstances," Davidson said in the message, before promising to make it up to those in attendance with a free show soon.
According to Us Weekly, Brand mockingly told the crowd "not to ask any questions about his exes Ariana Grande or Kate Beckinsale" during his introduction.
TMZ video footage sees Brand showing the video message to the audience and then responding, "No way in the world would I ever disrespect any comedian."
He goes on to blame Davidson's security guard for making him say what he said. "If you've got a bad security guy, you should fire your goddamn security guy."
Brand goes on praise himself for supporting Davidson's career at an early stage and for texting him when he was "having trouble" last year.
He closed out by warning that even "the craziest fucking woman" shouldn't date Davidson.
