It's not news to anyone that Tegan and Sara have their hands full as of late, even without a baby in the latter's arms. Right before their new series High School premieres at TIFF, the sisters made an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers to chat about the show and their upcoming graphic novel, and even carved out some time to do a little bit of singing.

Before performing "Yellow," the lead single of their upcoming album Crybaby, the twins opened up about casting TikTokkers Railey and Seazynn Gilliland to star in High School, calling them a gift from the algorithm.

"We were talking a lot about twins in front of our cell phones … and we had not yet begun the casting process but we were talking about twins a lot," said Sara Quin. "And Tegan sent me Railey who actually plays Tegan on the show. She sent me her TikTok, and said 'I mean, these girls could play us on our show, and from that moment forward we were really advocating for them."

The sisters also talked about wanting separate identities growing up, and gave sneak peeks into their upcoming graphic novel Junior High — which serves as a prequel to both the book and TV adaptations of High School

Tegan and Sara's tenth album Crybaby will arrive on October 21 via Mom + Pop.
