Scottish rockers the Jesus and Mary Chain have taken their time in following up their 1998 full-length Munki, but that will change come next year with the arrival of a new disc in the spring.
Speaking with CBC Music, Creation Records' Alan McGee confirmed that the band have recorded a long-awaited new disc and would have it out next year.
"They've made another album! It's a big deal! It's unbelievable," McGee said, adding that it would be out through Warner. "It's coming out end of next March. It's kinda enormous!"
The road to a new record has definitely been a long one, with talk of a follow-up to Munki having been around since 2007. Last year, the group made the promise of a new record while touring in support of the 30th anniversary of their iconic album Psychocandy, further adding that the material is "a more mature sound for the Mary Chain."
