The Jesus and Mary Chain to Reissue 'Psychocandy' on Paint Splatter Vinyl for Record Store Day

We've seen a string of reissues from the Jesus and Mary Chain over the last couple of years, but this might be the coolest one yet. For this year's Record Store Day (April 20), the band will be reissuing their career-defining Psychocandy on brightly coloured paint splatter vinyl.

The band posted a picture of the nifty-looking wax, which you can see above, on Facebook [via Slicing Up Eyeballs]. It will be exclusively available through independent record stores in a limited pressing of 1,000. These numbered copies come with a reproduction of an early show poster.

As far as we can tell, this record doesn't come with any bonus material (certainly, the tracklist on the record pictured above is the same as on the original record). Regardless, this is a must-have for any JAMC-loving vinyl junkies, and we're willing to bet that demand will exceed supply.

At this point, it's unclear if this is a RSD UK exclusive, or if it will be available in North America as well.

Speaking of classic '80s reissues, Slicing Up Eyeballs also notes that Echo and the Bunnymen will re-release Crocodiles on 180-gram red vinyl for Record Store Day.
