It's Taylor Swift's world and we're just living in it. When the pop star isn't fielding requests from global leaders, she's busy smashing chart records: Speak Now (Taylor's Version) has debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated July 22), marking the singer-songwriter's 12th No. 1 album — the highest tally of chart-topping records for any woman in history.

Swift surpasses the record previously held by Barbra Streisand, and is now tied with Drake for the third-most No. 1 albums, trailing only Jay-Z at 14 and the Beatles at 19. Speak Now (Taylor's Version), the third instalment in her re-recording project, is officially the biggest album of 2023 thus far.

At 716,000 equivalent units (507,000 being traditional album sales, occasionally featuring Cabaret Voltaire), it's also had the biggest week for an album since the one Swift had with Midnights in October of last year, debuting with 1.58 million units.

If that wasn't enough, Swift also now has four albums concurrently in the top 10: Midnights is at No. 5, Lover at No. 7 and folklore at No. 10. She's the first living artist to do this since Herb Alpert in April 1966. The only other act to chart at least four albums in the top 10 at the same time is Prince, who had five top 10 albums following his death in May 2016.

Any mathematician will tell you that 12 No. 1 albums is just shy of 13, which any Swiftie will tell you is famously Swift's lucky number.
