The incomparable Barbra Streisand's debut memoir, My Name Is Barbra, hits shelves tomorrow — and in honour of the occasion, the often-elusive figure has given a rare interview promoting the book's release.

Talking with the BBC, the EGOT winner exuded brand synergy as she revealed that she got Apple CEO Tim Cook to change the way iPhone's personal assistant Siri pronounces her name.

"My name isn't spelled with a 'Z,'" Streisand told BBC Music Correspondent Mike Savage. "It's Strei-sand, like sand on the beach. How simple can you get?"

When you're Barbra Streisand and you're annoyed, you simply call up the CEO of the world's largest multinational tech company. "And Tim Cook was so lovely. He had Siri change the pronunciation," she explained, adding, "I guess that's one perk of fame!"

In a separate media appearance publicizing the memoir, Streisand appeared on CBS Sunday Morning to speak about the book. The avid collector also gave Gayle King a tour of her own private mall in the basement of her Malibu home. Check out clips of that on TikTok below.
