Back in July, synthpop legends Soft Cell announced *Happiness Not Included, their first album of new material in over two decades arriving on BMG. Today, they've shared the record's first single and confirmed a February 25 release date.

The new song is called "Bruises on My Illusions," and it's a dark, thrumming piece of gothic pop. In a statement, Soft Cell's Marc Almond said of the track: "'Bruises on My Illusions' is a mini film noir Soft Cell story about a disillusioned character with everything against him or her who still has hope for a better future, despite the odds. A darker 'Bedsitter.' Dave's ominous yet punchy defiant chords inspired the song."

*Happiness Not Included will be the first album from the duo since releasing Cruelty Without Beauty in 2002. In 2018, Soft Cell shared new songs "Northern Lights" and "Guilty ('Cos I Say You Are')" in a retrospective compilation.
