Before the Titanic submarine took over our collective imaginations last week, the news was awash with footage of pop stars being attacked at their shows: a man was arrested for lobbing a phone at Bebe Rexha's face — which required stitches — because he thought it would be funny, then Ava Max was slapped by a stage invader.

In the wake of all that, things have decidedly gotten less scary in a dangerous way and more scary in a weird way. While P!nk was performing at BST Hyde Park in London on Sunday (June 25) amid her tour behind TRUSTFALL, a fan threw a plastic bag full of their deceased mother's ashes onto the stage.

"This is your mom?!" the singer-songwriter asked the thrower. The answer was seemingly affirmative.

A stunned P!nk said, "I don't know how I feel about this," before doing as anyone would and awkwardly putting the baggie of human remains back down.

Likewise, I don't know how to feel about the fact that this went down while the pop star was singing "Just Like a Pill," which contains the lyric, "I can't stay on your life support." It's a depth of post-post-irony that even I can't quite get my head around.

P!nk's fans have been known to throw gifts (teddy bears, flowers, letters, cute stuff like that) in her direction, but this was safely an unprecedented situation. As she told the crowd, "I have to say, that was a first."
