Modest Mouse to Release More Vinyl Reissues?

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 9, 2015

In addition to Modest Mouse's upcoming Strangers to Ourselves LP, the beloved indie rock outfit may have some more vinyl reissues on the way. Listings for represses of the band's Interstate 8 EP and rarities set Building Nothing Out of Something have surfaced online.

As Modern Vinyl points out, listings for both releases had appeared on retail site Elusive Disc, but have since been removed. Though the details have been taken down, both re-releases still come up in an artist search, which you can see here

Both packages are said to land April 21 via Fat Possum. As previously reported, the label, in conjunction with Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock's Glacial Pace, delivered vinyl pressings of long-out-of-print platters This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About and The Lonesome Crowded West last fall.

The Interstate 8 EP was originally issued on CD via UP Records in 1996. This will be the first-ever vinyl release of the collection, which also adds the band's Live at Sunburst Montana demo. Building Nothing Out of Something was released in 1999 and collected various singles, including Interstate 8, onto one LP.

It should be noted that, as evidenced by the link removals, nothing has been officially confirmed by the band or the labels.

As for the brand new Strangers to Ourselves, it lands March 17 through Glacial Pace.
