While Modest Mouse undertook a number of North American tour dates this summer, the Issaquah, WA-founded indie rock outfit have yet to announce a follow-up to 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. On the plus side, it's quite possible that a pair of vinyl represses from their back catalogue are in the works.
Though nothing has been set in stone, Amazon.uk [via Modern Vinyl] posted pre-orders for new vinyl versions of 1995's This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About and 1997's breakthrough effort, The Lonesome Crowded West. According to the listings, these are due in the UK on October 27 and November 3, all through main man Isaac Brock's own Glacial Pace imprint.
If true, these will be the first vinyl pressings of the albums since the '90s and will be a boon for fans not willing to shell out $200 or more to grab an O.G. copy through sites like Discogs.
While neither release has been officially confirmed through Glacial Pace, the label did apparently serve up CD editions earlier this year. Likewise, these aren't on the label site but have been noted on Discogs and are for sale on Amazon UK. Keep your fingers crossed on this one, collectors.

Via Glacial Pace/Fat Possum, This Is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think About will arrive October 28 in North America and The Lonesome Crowded West is out November 4. Each will come with a bonus 7-inch featuring tracks from the respective recording sessions. The Long Drive 7-inch will include the tracks "White Lies, Yellow Teeth" and "Buttons to Push the Buttons," while The Lonesome Crowded West single features "Too Many Fiestas for Rueben" and an alternate version of "Cowboy Dan."
