Earlier today, Tory Lanez released a 17-track album that's mostly about how he swears he didn't actually shoot Megan Thee Stallion — despite allegations that emerged earlier this year. Now, her team has bounced back and accused him of running a "smear campaign" against her.
Megan's attorney Alex Spiro told TMZ that Tory's camp has allegedly been creating fake emails in an effort to plant stories about her in the media.
"We have been made aware of manipulated text messages and invented email accounts that have been disseminated to the media in a calculated attempt to peddle a false narrative about the events that occurred on July the 12th," Spiro said.
One of the emails — which was sent to Exclaim!, as well as TMZ — suggested that Megan's Roc Nation management was involved in influencing the plaintiff in a separate incident where Lanez had been charged with assault at a Miami nightclub. Roc Nation denied any involvement from the lawsuit.
Another email, posted from a questionable Gmail account to TMZ, included a YouTube video of a man claiming to be Tory's former bodyguard and stating that Tory had never been violent with women.
Lanez is now facing weapons charges over the alleged altercation, and although he apparently apologized via text, he has maintained his innocence. Megan Thee Stallion, meanwhile, has been booked to perform the season opener of SNL.
