Earlier this summer, Megan Thee Stallion was hospitalized for gunshot wounds to her foot following an altercation in Los Angeles involving Brampton rapper Tory Lanez. Though Lanez has yet to be formally charged for assault, Megan went public with accusations that Lanez was the one who shot her. Now, new text messages have surfaced that seem to further implicate the rapper.

TMZ has obtained texts sent from Tory to Megan, dating back to July 12, roughly 15 hours after the alleged shooting. In the messages, Lanez appears to apologize for shooting Megan, admitting that he was "just too drunk" the night of the incident.

"I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart…" he wrote in one of the messages. "None the less shit should have never happened and I can't change what did. I just feel horrible."

Megan initially waited to come forward with accusations against Lanez, explaining in a lengthy video that she didn't report the shooting to police at the time because of ongoing issues with race-based police brutality in the U.S.

She explained: "You want me to tell the law we got a gun in the car so they can shoot all of us up?"

The night of the shooting, Lanez was arrested for concealed weapons charges but has yet to be formally charged with the assault on Megan. The LAPD began investigations into the shooting shortly after the incident.

In August, Megan confirmed her injuries with a series of gruesome photos of her injured foot after multiple accusations that she lied about getting shot surfaced online.
