Hear the Week's Best New Canadian Music: Snotty Nose Rez Kids, LU KALA, ELIO, TOBi

BY Exclaim! StaffPublished Dec 2, 2022

Step aside, fives; a 10 — LU KALA — is in her "Pretty Girl Era."

Such is the energy we insist on bringing into the end of the year. December has finally rolled around, but Canadian artists aren't letting up yet — they're celebrating the homestretch of 2022 with another strong New Music Friday.

ELIO expands her ELIO'S INFERNO mixtape with stars (and dollar signs) in her eyes, while TOBi delivers bars in spite of having been "Hoodwinked," bamboozled and led astray.

This week in album releases, Snotty Nose Rez Kids deliver their second LP (I'M GOOD, HBU?) in as many years, White Lung say farewell and Shirley Hurt introduces herself, as does Blair Lee with her The Puppy Game EP.

Elsewhere, St. John's rockers Brookfield Line celebrate camaraderie with "Friends" and Dizzy guest on "Say So" by the Album Leaf. The Soul Motivators accept that "It Is What It Is," while Georgia Harmer revisits her debut single "Headrush."

Start prepping for Spotify Wrapped to roast you a little less next year with The Eh! List below, presented by Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters — all Canadian and proud of it!
