Today, the Calgary-shot Fraggle Rock series Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock premiered on Apple TV+, and who better to soundtrack the latest adventures of Jim Henson's colourful characters than some of the biggest rockers going in Foo Fighters.

The closing track on the official soundtrack album of Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock is a reimagining of the original series' "Fraggle Rock Rock" from Dave Grohl and co.

As you'll find below, the "Fraggle Rock Rock" from the original series — sung by a group of captive Fraggles in 1983 episode "Wembley and the Gorgs" — is more of a rock 'n' blues affair, while the Foos' new version sits firmly upon a more modern rock foundation. Lyrically, both versions stress the burning desire to "flip, flop, skippity hop / Back to Fraggle Rock."

Along with Foo Fighters, the Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock soundtrack features contributions from Daveed Diggs, Cynthia Erivo, Ed Helms, Kenan Thompson and Patti LaBelle. You can hear the entire thing below following new and old versions of "Fraggle Rock Rock."

Earlier this month, Foo Fighters shared a first trailer for their forthcoming horror-comedy Studio 666.
