Dionne Warwick is a living legend and one of our foremost Twitter talents. And while she regularly tweets incredibly hilarious gospel, she's apparently teamed up with none other than Dolly Parton to sing some.

During an interview on a recent episode of The Tamron Hall Show, Warwick shared that she and Parton will be releasing a duet called "Peace Like a River" — penned by the recent co-host of NBC's New Year's Eve Party alongside goddaughter Miley Cyrus — later this month.

"[Parton] sent me a song that she wanted me to record and I said, 'Okay, that sounds like a deal,'" Warwick explained of the collaboration's origins. "She's such a sweetheart, I know her. She sent me another song — the one that we're going to be doing as a duet — it's a gospel song called 'Peace Like a River.' She wrote it and I'm very excited about this."

She added, "I've done so many duets over the years, but this one's going to be very special."

You could say the fated connection between the two singers has been a long time coming, since Whitney Houston — Warwick's cousin — recorded her earth-shattering rendition of Parton's "I Will Always Love You" for The Bodyguard in 1992. It feels a little like they tumbled out of bed and stumbled into fate.

Elsewhere in the conversation where she was joined by son Damon Elliott, Warwick reflected upon her enduring love for her career. "Music is joy," she said. "And when you can put a smile on people's faces — and I've been told how many smiles I've put on people's faces; to be that part of people's lives, it's incredible. It's overwhelming sometimes."

It's likewise difficult to imagine that this meeting of the minds not bringing smiles to people's faces. Last year, Warwick and Parton were both Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees, with the latter eventually being inducted in the company of Eminem, Duran Duran, Lionel Richie, Carly Simon, Eurythmics and Pat Benatar despite her initial declination. Since then, the country superstar has promised us a rock album where she's hoping to reunite Robert Plant and Jimmy Page for a cover of "Stairway to Heaven."

"Peace Like a River" certainly sounds like it's going to be a first step on that holy staircase.
