Remember when Grateful Dead offshoot Dead and Company debunked reports that they would be splitting up earlier this year? Yeah, well, it turns out those reports weren't as false as originally thought.

The legacy band — fronted by John Mayer and comprising original Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann alongside Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti — announced their final tour will take place in 2023 via their social channels today.

The band wrote:

As we put the finishing touches on booking venues, and understanding that word travels fast, we wanted to be the first to let you know that Dead & Company will be hitting the road next summer for what will be our final tour.

Stay tuned for a full list of dates for what will surely be an exciting, celebratory, and heartfelt last run of shows.

With love and appreciation, Dead & Company

The group shared in the post that "more information" will be "coming soon," presumably referring to the summer tour's dates and venues. Dead and Company have never performed in Canada.
