Former Daft Punk player Thomas Bangalter will soon release his score for a comedy film about Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí.

Directed by Quentin Dupieux — aka Mr. Oizo — DAAAAAALÍ premiered out of competition at last year's Venice International Film Festival. Described as a "real fake biopic" about the influential artist, the film features multiple different actors playing the role of Dalí. You can watch a short teaser for the film below.

The film receives a wider theatrical release on February 7, with Bangalter's accompanying music arriving February 9 via Ed Banger Records. The DAAAAAALÍ soundtrack arrives as a limited edition 10-inch pressed on black vinyl, with a piece on each side of the record and an included poster. Pre-orders for the physical edition are ongoing.

Last year, Bangalter shared Mythologies, a 90-minute score commissioned in 2019, marking the artist's first independent orchestral work.

2023 also saw Bangalter and Daft Punk partner Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo celebrate 10 years of Random Access Memories, the 2013 release that could stand as their final album. The festivities included expanded and "drumless" editions of the album and unearthed studio footage.
